Our holiday home, la Forge
La Forge is the old smithy of the manor of La Ville Heleuc, that has been renovated as an holiday home. We called it La Forge, that is, the smithy, because we found lots of horse-irons at the location of the old fireplace. It's blue-white interior simbolizes the relation of Brittany between land and sea.
During
your stay La
Forge will
be either a peaceful port for a calm and reposing holiday, or starting
point for walkings and excursion to everywhere in Brittany.
On
the property pathes will conduct you from the pond of Beaulieu (that
means "beautiful location"), under firs and up the path of Obelix to
the Isaac hill. Swimming in the natural pool will refresh you before
you go on up the hill to discover the surrounding area. But perhaps
will you prefer the shadow of oaktrees and chestnuttrees...
Under the
"préau" beside La Forge
are confortable gardenchairs, tables and a fireplace were you can have
barbecues.
Because of the central woodheating system La Forge is comfortable also in autumn and winter. The sauna gives you total relaxing even after a long day of walking or sporting. The water of the shower has been warmed up by the sun.
Our holiday home, La Forge
has
been renovated in 2007 and 2009. It is fully equiped for 4 to 5
persons. You'll find a color-tv, a dish-washer, washing machine,
central heating (appreciated in the off-season; the wood comes from our
own fir-plantation), as well as a sauna cabin for more active and
sporty holidays.
The wooden table and chairs under an old cabin-light invite you for meal, while the kitchen offers an electric oven, gas-plate, fridge, microwave oven, ...
Behind the blue door is the bathroom and toilet.
In the nearby room are two beds, a
cupboard and table. Kids may write on the doors with chalk.
Beside the sauna cabin is a shower and a washing machine.
On
the first floot is the big living room, the sleeping part is partially
hidden by an old sail. Ship lanterns, an old steering wheel and even an
autentical marine sewing machine invites you to live different holidays
- between land and sea.
Up there you will find also a color tv, radio, games, books about Brittany and it's literature, but also some for kids, and french, german, english or Esperanto novels.
